In the News: Apologetics Press

Every so often in this space, I like to point out to our readers that sometimes it is Apologetics Press that is “in the news.” This is one such instance.

As I stated in my “Note from the Editor” in this issue of Reason & Revelation, over the past several months, Dr. Brad Harrub and I have been working diligently on several rather “intense” subjects having to do with the topic of origins. For example, in the August 2002 issue of R&R, we published a treatise on the problem of the alleged evolutionary origin of language and communication (with the assistance of our resident communications specialist, Dr. Dave Miller). In October and November 2002, we wrote about the problem of the origin of gender and sexual reproduction. In the May-July 2003 issues, we produced an in-depth, three-part series reviewing and refuting the popular Big Bang concept of the origin of the Universe (with the assistance of our physicist-intern, Branyon May). In this month’s issue, we begin a four-part series examining the problem of the evolution of the brain, mind, and human consciousness—an enigma that even evolutionists themselves have referred to as the “hard problem” in matters of origins.

As we researched these topics (no small task, I assure you!), the thought occurred to us that perhaps the creationist community at large might benefit from our research. We therefore decided to submit articles to various refereed science journals published by professional creationist organizations (e.g., the Creation Research Society), in the hope that our scientific colleagues would see the value of our efforts and decide to publish our writings on these several topics.

So far, we have submitted no less than nine such articles for peer review. Most already have been accepted for publication, while others are still in the peer-review process. The first, “The Origin of Language and Communication,” has just been released in the latest edition of TJ, the technical journal produced by the same scientists who publish the popular-level journal, Creation. The article, which we co-authored with Dr. Miller, is in volume 17, number 3, pages 93-101, of TJ. If you would like a copy of the article, we will be happy to provide a complimentary reprint if you will provide us with your name and regular mailing address (the copyrighted article is not available to us in an electronic format). Stay tuned. We’re just getting started—and I assure you, there is much more to come!
