[IMPORTANT NOTE: As of January 1, 2003, the Study Course in Christian Evidences book and video tapes are both out of print. We suggest that you consider as a replacement the two-volume Rock-Solid Faith series (Rock-Solid Faith: How to Build It and Rock-Solid Faith: How to Sustain It. Both volume one and volume two, have videos that accompany them. You may also want to consider our book, Investigating Christian Evidences.]
The inspired apostle Paul said that he was “set for the defense of the Gospel” (Philippians 1:16). Indeed, he spent much of his earthly tenure doing just that—defending the gospel of Jesus Christ, and explaining to anyone who would listen the promise of salvation that comes through obedience to it. He appeared before angry mobs, the Jewish Sanhedrin, and even Agrippa the king. His situation changed often; his message never did.
Paul, and untold millions of others down through the ages, served God because they had seen the evidences standing incontrovertibly behind the God of the Bible and the Christian religion that He instituted through His Son, Jesus Christ. Christianity is rooted deeply in historical fact. From the Jews of Moses’ day who were God’s chosen people, to the Christians of today who are His spiritual children, the story is told of the singular God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob Who created the world and all that is in it, and Who loved mankind so much that he emptied heaven of its most prized possession—the Son of God Himself—to ensure eternal salvation for the people created “in His image” (Genesis 1:26-27).
The story told throughout the Bible is one that is verifiable. The many claims found within its sixty-six books are supported by the weightiest kind of documentation, including the manuscript evidence for the genuineness and accuracy of the Bible, the accuracy of historical facts, the testimony of fulfilled prophecy, scientific foreknowledge found within the text, and especially Christ’s empty tomb.
A Study Course in Christian Evidences examines much of the evidence that attends the truthfulness of New Testament Christianity. In today’s secular climate of unbelief, the Christian’s faith often is under assault. The time has come for every Christian to fortify his or her faith with the kind of evidence that can weather the attacks of infidelity.
The Study Course comes in two complementary formats. The first is a 5-tape VHS video set that includes thirteen lessons of approximately 38 minutes each (which makes them perfect for use in Sunday School classes). In the videos, I discuss such topics as the reasons for men’s unbelief, the case for God’s existence, the creation/evolution controversy, the inspiration of the Bible, the Sonship and deity of Christ, and God’s plan of salvation. The videos are professionally produced and are of the highest quality.
The Study Course also is available in a printed format. Wayne Jackson and I have co-authored a 162-page volume dealing with the same topics that I cover in the videos (the video tapes were produced after the book and follow the text chapter by chapter). Each of the thirteen chapters in the book contains written exercises for students’ use. Answers are provided at the end of the book on perforated pages that may be removed, should the teacher desire to do so.
The videos sell for $80/set ($5 p&h). One complimentary copy of the book is included with each tape set. Additional copies of the book may be purchased at a cost of $5 each ($1.50 p&h for the first copy; 50˘ p&h for each additional copy). To order with a credit card, call us toll-free at 1-800-234-8558.
